This Christmas, we gave Aldi’s most famous cake a festive glow-up, turning Cuthbert into a giant, bauble-covered Christmas tree.

The 8ft-tall topiary took a cheeky tour of Brighton’s landmarks (including an inevitable stop at M&S), causing a stir with shoppers and lighting up social feeds along the way.

Decked out in fairy lights, a Santa hat and festive shoes, Cuthbert eventually settled outside Aldi’s Eastbourne store for fans to visit, snap and share.

A playful, earned-first Christmas stunt that turned a supermarket icon into a proper festive moment.
